Be Christmas Ready at Orchard Central

10:58 PM

The end of the year is approaching, which also means... Christmas is approaching! What is your favourite activity to do during Christmas? :) For me, it's definitely admiring the Christmas decorations put up along Orchard Road! I'm pretty sure this made up one of the beautiful childhood memories for the 90s kids.

This year, Orchard Central decides to go with the "traditional" colours for their decorations. The theme this year’s at Orchard Central is "Christmas Rhapsody".

Using the "traditional" Christmas colours of red and white, with reindeers covered in white lace (super pretty!!!), the signature 8-metre tall Christmas tree, a life sized carousel, some reindeer sleighs, all that's missing is, yes, a Santa Claus.

Why is Santa Claus, the most important figure to many, missing though? Because all of us are living Santa Clauses!!! Pretty sure many of us believe Christmas to be the season of giving (and gifting), and even for people who don't celebrate Christmas much (aka me haha), I'd still take the opportunity to shop!

This year, although the size of the OC Christmas Market Place has been scaled down, the variety of products available for shopping definitely isn't compromised :) You can find the Christmas Market Place at Discovery Walk, Level 1 of Orchard Central, right outside EwF :)

My favourite tenant here is definitely Shea (the one selling handmade soap bars!!!) I chanced upon this shop (they're also located at B2 of OC) while on a previous Beauty Trail I did with OC (you can access it HERE ). The store wasn't part of the trail, but it definitely caught my eyes because my mum loves using handmade soaps which are free from sulphates and all those chemicals (that I can't name). I brought my mum to the shop when we were at OC doing our own shopping and she bought 3 of these soap bars, and she loved it! If I'm not wrong, it's 3 for $28. I guess this will make a great Christmas gift for friends and family! I'm definitely going back to buy some for myself too :D

The best part of all, these soap bars look like food HAHAHA. (but of course, it's not edible)

If you're looking for Christmas cards, you can also get these really delicate pop-up cards available at the marketplace! They also sell many other handicrafts available for purchase :)
Besides the marketplace located at the atrium, there are also other stores located inside OC where you can buy your Christmas gifts from :) The list is abundant... from Tokyu Hands to Soozip to Fullmask  to Miss Empire... I've picked out 2 stores which might interest you guys!

1) TOTALLYHOTSTUFF #06-23

Nope, not a human for sale. Pretty sure this shop is a familiar name to many students and teenagers. It sells lots of quirky and interesting stuff! Be it buying a gift for your boyfriend/girlfriend, siblings or friends, there're a wide range of stationery to choose from!

Pretty sure if you're looking for gift ideas, you're likely to not leave this place empty handed :)

2) Miss Empire #B1-04
Not a stationery/ decor person? Or you/your friend prefer something more classic and classy? :) Miss Empire sells fashion accessories for ladies and there's really a wide variety available!

The prices of the accessories range from $10 onwards, which is an affordable budget for most students like us (esp when the secret santa "game" is usually budgeted at $10-$15!) They also carry more delicate pieces which are priced on the higher end, so there's quite a good mix of products of different prices!

Hopefully with this entry, you'd no longer fret over where to do your Christmas shopping! Orchard Central is also currently having some Christmas promotions!
